EVERY STUDENT SHOULD NOW HAVE A CARD KEY

Corrected Freshmen card keys were distributed.  Other grade levels that have lost their card keys may

purchase them immediately from Activities.  Students will need their card keys to enter Skyview.  No card

key, no entry.  Students may ask another student for entry.  If you have questions about card keys, speak with Mr. Lynch, Mr. Wahl or Mr. Carlson.

 

MARTINSON'S CARAMEL APPLES

Members are selling Martinson's Caramel Apples for Halloween!  They are $5.00 each and will be delivered Halloween, Wednesday, October 31.   You can order from any BPA member or stop by room 131.

PIE EATING CONTEST AT SATURDAY LIVE

Ready for some FUN? We are looking for 3 students to represent Skyview High in the pie eating contest at Saturday Live! You will go head to head against students from Senior and West as the crowd cheers you on! Skyview has won this contest the past 2 years, so prepare to defend your title! Winning team gets $25 per person. Contest takes place this Saturday September 22nd at noon at Pioneer Park. Please sign up in the main office by this Thursday Sept 20th.

If you missed getting your pictures taken, our picture retakes for all grades is October 4. They will not be here all day.  You will need to take the initiative to find the best time. Try before school even begins in the 2nd gym

Lifetouch will be at Skyview before the 8:00 bell and it will be less crowded at that time.   

 

CONGRATULATIONS DANCE TEAM

Skyview's Dance Team went to NDA (National Dance Alliance) team camp in Greeley, CO during the summer.  All our dancers earned countless ribbons, and we even brought home a trophy for having an exceptional team mentality.  Most excitingly, the team qualified for NDA Nationals in Orlando, FL, and our elite team, the Fusion Fatale is ACTUALLY GOING!  The girls are so excited to represent Billings at a National competition (and our FIRST ever competition).  Congratulations to our decorated dancers:

Governor and First Lady Youth Leadership Council

Students selected to serve on the Council will work to raise awareness of childhood hunger in their community, while at the same time engaging their peers in service projects intended to address the issue itself. Students will serve by both developing their individual leadership and organizing skills and providing a tangible benefit to their classrooms and communities

Juniors and Honors Sophomores

Sign-ups have begun for the PSAT.  The PSAT is a practice for the SAT and the only way juniors can qualify for National Merit.  Please bring $17 (exact change if paying in cash) to the counseling center to sign up.  We have limited tests, so first come first serve. 

The deadline to sign up is Oct. 5. 

The PSAT will be given at Skyview on Oct. 10.

 

HAVE YOU VOLUNTEERED?

Students if you have volunteered over the last year, applications are being accepted for NASSP 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Award.

You will be eligible to win:

-- $1,000 or more

-- a medallion,

-- an all expense paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington, D.C.

This will take place next spring for four days of special recognition events.

Sign-ups have begun for the PSAT.  The PSAT is a practice for the SAT and the only way juniors can qualify for National Merit.  Please bring $17 (exact change if paying in cash) to the counseling center to sign up.  We have limited tests, so first come first serve. 

The deadline to sign up is Oct. 5. 

The PSAT will be given at Skyview on Oct. 10.

 

HAVE YOU VOLUNTEERED?

Students if you have volunteered over the last year, applications are being accepted for NASSP 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Award.

You will be eligible to win:

-- $1,000 or more

-- a medallion,

-- an all expense paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington, D.C.

This will take place next spring for four days of special recognition events.

PIE EATING CONTEST AT SATURDAY LIVE

Ready for some FUN? We are looking for 3 students to represent Skyview High in the pie eating contest at Saturday Live! You will go head to head against students from Senior and West as the crowd cheers you on! Skyview has won this contest the past 2 years, so prepare to defend your title! Winning team gets $25 per person. Contest takes place this Saturday September 22nd at noon at Pioneer Park. Please sign up in the main office by this Thursday Sept 20th.

If you missed getting your pictures taken, our picture retakes for all grades is October 4. They will not be here all day.  You will need to take the initiative to find the best time. Try before school even begins in the 2nd gym

CARD KEYS FOR SALE

Every student needs a card key and has been issue one for free.  There are no exceptions. Card keys are a requirement for students to enter the building.  If you have lost your ID, go to the Activities office and have a new one issued. Sept. 10 & 11 you can replace your lost ID for just $3!    If you have any questions about why you need a card key to enter the building, contact Mr. Lynch, Mr. Wahl or  Mr. Carlson or our SRO for an explanation.
