COMING AND GOINGPlease help us keep our students safe by not using the bus lane during the hours of 7:00 - 9:00 AM and 2:00 - 4:00 PM, and 1:00 - 3:00 PM on Wednesdays. This space is reserved for buses and daycare vans only.
Please remind your students to use designated crosswalk zones to cross Broadwater, Wyoming and 4th Street West. Parents should also follow these rules and show children, by example, the proper way to cross a street. And, PLEASE be kind to your crossing guards. They are our parents too, just trying to keep your children safe!
ARRIVAL:
Breakfast Begins at 7:45 AM- Students enter the cafeteria through the door at 4th and Wyoming Ave.
ARRIVE AT 8, DON'T BE LATE! - If your student eats breakfast at home, we like to see them arrive at school around 8:00 AM. Teachers begin "Soft Start" at 8:00 AM in order to orient students for the upcoming day. Students are tardy after 8:10 AM.
DISMISSAL:
Dismissal Times: M, T, TH, F
Primary (K-3) 2:10 PM
Intermediate (4-5) 2:50 PM
If you need to pick up your child during the day, please call the office and leave a message stating the time you will arrive. We will try our best to have your student in the office ready to go for you. Please give yourself a little extra time, in case they are at recess, and it takes an extra minute to get them to the office.
We highly discourage parents from taking their student out of school during the day for appointments, particularly those who have resource and intervention classes. However, we realize that occasionally this is unavoidable. If you come to the school to pick up your student, you have two options for signing them out:
The first option is to use your smartphone with the RED QR CODE located to the left of the doorbell on the outside wall. Turn on your camera; point your phone toward the QR Code; A small form will pop-up; Complete the form; Ring the doorbell and let the secretary know who you are here to pick up. This process is especially helpful for parents who have other children waiting in the car. Please do not leave your children unattended in your car.
The second option is to come up to the office and sign out your child from school.
DAYCARE PICKUP
If your child rides a daycare bus after school, please let us know what organization they are picked up by. This information needs to be added to your contact information in PowerSchool.
PLEASE call the office IN THE MORNING to let us know if your child will not be going with their daycare today. If we have not been contacted, 1 hour prior to release time, your student will ride their daycare bus. The student cannot let us know, a parent must call the office and inform us.
ATTENDANCEDue to high call volume, and student/parent visits to the office during morning hours, we ask you to please leave messages on our Attendance Line. You can do this by dialing the Office at 406.281.6207. Choose option 1; Leave your name, and your child's name, grade, and the reason for their absence. If a child comes to school more than 90 minutes (9:40 AM) past the start time of 8:10 AM, they are absent for half of the day. If your child is absent more than 10 days without a call from the parent, or a note from the doctor, the child is considered unexcused/truant. We are required by law to report the absences to legal authorities. Please make sure you call us and let us know when your child is absent. This is being a Safe, Responsible, and Respectful parent. It is not necessary to call the school when you are just running late.
