Application for Committee Committee Membership Except as otherwise provided for herein, the Board Chair shall appoint Committee Chairs and trustee and community members to standing committees for one-year terms. Committee appointments are subject to Board ratification. Committee members appointed by the Board Chair may serve on the particular committee pending Board ratification. All members of the committee will be voting members of that committee. The membership of each standing committee expires on June 30 of each year. To fill the standing committees’ membership in a timely manner, the Board prescribes the following process and calendar:
In the spring of each year, the Board Chair shall solicit applications for membership on the standing committees. Anyone may apply for or recommend appointment of committee membership. The Board welcomes recommendations for committee membership from administrators, staff and employee groups.
Before the Board’s organizational meeting in the spring of each year, the Board Chair shall meet with the current standing committee chairs, the Board Vice Chair and the Superintendent to discuss standing committee membership for the upcoming year. |
