National Honor Society Members:  Pick up your honor cords for graduation in the Activities Office NOW - They cost $8. 
 
Seniors:  Activities has received another order of caps and gowns.  If you ordered yours late come see if it has arrived. 
 
If you are interested in Summer University Connections classes at MSU B - see your Counselor. 
 
If you made a "Celebration Banner" last year in Mrs. Story's, Mr. Harmon's or Mrs. Jochem's class, you can pick those up in Room 115.  Hope to see you and thanks for participating in our 75th Bronc Celebration. 
 
Seniors!  Please pay all outstanding book, library and activities fines as soon as possible.  See Deborah Horton in Room 107.  Failure to pay fines will result in your diploma and transcript being withheld.   
 
Do you have children's books just waiting to be read again?  If so, BAM would like to take them off your hands.  Bring your gently used and new children's books to Senior.  Deposit them in the BAM BINS placed in front of the Main Office and Library.  Let's support Better Billings Literacy Initiative called Book Nooks and place books in the hands of children of Yellowstone County. 
 
Summer Drivers Education Signups:   The whole month of April in the Main Office at Senior High.  Students need to be born on or before December 8 2000 and a high school student.  Class dates are June 8th - July 10th.  Cost is $245 and needs to be paid when you sign up. 
 
The Kermit and Kathleen Schwanke Honors Institute for High School Students who will either be Juniors or Seniors next fall is taking applications for their summer program.  Students will live on the UM Campus from June 14 - 26 and take classes from UM Faculty members.  The three courses offered are: Chemistry 191 - Potions 101; English 191 - Introduction to Creative Writing; and Journalism 191 - Global Journalism.  This deadline has been extended to April 27th.  
 
The National Guard will have a table set up near the Counseling Center during both lunches on Monday, April 27th.  Stop by and see what the Guard can do for you! 
 
Rad Grad Meeting:  April 27th at 6 PM in the Senior High Library. 
 
April 28th:  ACT Testing for Juniors.   Early Morning classes will be cancelled this day due to testing.  Class rosters are in the hallways.  Find out what room you are assigned to on 3rd floor and report to that room by 7:45 AM Tuesday morning.  Bring a photo ID, #2 pencils and a basic calculator.  NO CELL PHONES ALLOWED!  Testing will begin right at 8 AM and students will be finished around noon.  Juniors who complete the testing will be given the afternoon off.
 
Poem in Your Pocket!  Thursday, April 30th!  Bring an original poem or any poem to share as Billings Senior High celebrates Poem in Your Pocket Day!  Share poems with anyone at Senior High but if you share them with Deborah Horton you get a treat. 
 
On Thursday April 30th Savannah College of Art and Design will have a rep here to visit with students during 2nd period.  If you would be interested in seeing what this college has to offer, please stop by the Counseling Center to sign up. 
 
Applications for the Billings Clinic Summer Volunteer Program are being accepted now with a deadline of May 1st.  You must be 14 by June 1st to apply.  This program helps students gain work experience and responsibility, build leadership skills and develop career goals, as well as being a vital piece in college and job applications.  Go to www.billingsclinic.com and click on "Volunteers" for an application or stop by the Counseling Office for more information.
 
If you are interested in Bronc Buddies please stop by the Counseling Center to pick up an application.  Applications must be turned in by Friday May 1st.

On May 5th the Parks and Recreation Department will have a table set up near the Counseling Office during both lunches to visit with students about summer jobs.  Stop by and see the list of jobs available.

The Montana Wilderness School will have a table set up near the Counseling Center during both lunches on Friday, May 8th.  The mission of the Montana Wilderness School is to provide empowering expeditionary wilderness courses to youth that foster personal growth and cultivate a conservation ethic through connecting with remote landscapes and wild places. 
 
High School Smarter Balanced Testing for Juniors has been rescheduled for May 7, May 8, May 11 and May 12.  The bell schedule will be:  Thursday the 7th and Monday the 11th Periods 1,2,3.  Students released at 3 PM.  Friday the 8th and Tuesday the 12th Periods 4,5,6.  Students released at 3 PM. 
 
Reps from the US Military Academies (Naval, Air Force, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine) and ROTC (Army, Navy, Air Force) Congressional Staff will be in Billings to provide information:  Saturday May 9th at 10 AM at the Billings Armed Forces Reserve Center 2901 Gable Road.  The host is Senator Jon Tester's Office.  See your counselor with questions. 
 
Miss Montana Teen USA applications are in the Counseling Center.  Deadline is May 15th.   
 
Attention Seniors and Parents:  MasterLube Day is May 16th.  We need your help to make it a success.  Every penny we earn goes toward the GIFTS and CASH you will receive at the Rad Grad party.  We have 3 shifts available:  6:30 AM - 10 AM, 10 AM - 2 PM, 2 PM - 6 PM.  Seniors sign up in the Activities Office to work a shift.  Parents will contact Julie Whitworth at montanagirlsclub@gmail.com to sign up for a shift.  Please volunteer your time and bring your car in for an oil change to support the class of 2015. 
 
Awards Assembly for Seniors:  The awards assembly for Seniors will be May 20th from 1 PM to 3 PM in the New Gym.  This is for students who are notified only.

Locker Clean out for ALL students will be Tuesday, May 26th from 10 AM - 10:13 AM.   
 
Senior Breakfast will be Wednesday May 27th.

Donations Needed for Rad Grad.  Rad Grad is solely funded on donations from parents and the community.  If you would like to donate to Rad Grad please send your donation to Senior High School 425 Grand Avenue 59101 Attention Rad Grad 2015. 
 
Volunteers needed for RAD GRAD night May 31st from 9 PM - 4 AM working in 1 - 2 hour blocks (parents, grandparents, relatives, etc.)  The night is not possible without volunteers.  Please contact Alice Wilcox at reallynicemom@yahoo.com to volunteer. 
 
ATTENTION SENIORS:  Your lockers will be cleaned out the week of June 1st - June 5th.  All items need to be removed or they will be donated.

Latino Scholars of Promise Program.  Deadline is June 1st.  See your Counselor for an application and information.  Latino High School Students in any grade may attend a three day retreat in Bozeman, free of charge.  Students will receive support in applying to a university and college life in general.   
 
Montana Tech is holding a one week summer camp for young women entering their sophomore or junior year who are interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).  Camp is June 21- June 26 in Butte.  For more information go to mtech.edu/mines-camp or call 1-800-445-TECH or stop by the Counseling Center for an information/registration packet.  Students should be entering their Sophomore or Junior year in the Fall of 2015.  Scholarships are available - check with your counselor for more info. 
 
What a Blast Mining Camp!  June 21st - June 26th on the Montana Tech Campus.  This camp is focused on the mining engineering industry and will teach participants the benefit of the mining industry, environmental stewardship and sustainability.  The camp is for students entering their junior or senior year in the fall.  Applications deadline is April 10 2015 and scholarships are available.  Stop by the counseling office for more information and an application. 
 
The Billings Downtown Rotary Club is sponsoring a Freshman student from our school to attend their 2015 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) conference to be held at Luccock Park Camp near Livingston July 14 - 18, 2015.  Please see your counselor for applications. 
 
MedStart Summer Camp will take place on Montana Tech's campus July 19 - July 23rd.  This camp is offered throughout the summer and on different campuses.  It focuses on the high demand careers in the healthcare industry.  More information can be found at www.scmtahec.org/med-start-summer-camp
